Late Scoring Leads FSC Past Maritime

Throggs Neck, N.Y. - Tied 0-0 with less than six minutes remaining, Farmingdale State used back-to-back scores to earn the 2-0 conference road victory at Maritime on Wednesday night. The FSC men's soccer team improved to 7-5 overall and 6-1 in the Skyline with the victory.

After a scoreless first 84:57 of the game, sophomore midfielder Christian Campos (Huntington, N.Y.) scored from the top of the box to put the Rams ahead, 1-0. Only 53 seconds later, FSC freshman defender Kyle Darden (Floral Park, N.Y.) converted a goal off the corner kick of Campos to extend the lead to 2-0. Farmingdale State held Maritime (6-8, 2-5) without a shot the remainder of the way to seal the 2-0 victory.

The Rams did not allow a Maritime shot for the entire 90 minutes of action.

FSC next will play host to Merchant Marine in a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, October 15th at 2:00 p.m.
