Newburgh, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team traveled to first place Mount Saint Mary on Friday night and fell, 2-0. The Knights improved to 7-5 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the Skyline, while the Rams now stand at 6-5, 5-1 and are in third place in the conference.

Sophomore forward Jonathan Schefer (Greenlawn, N.Y.) scored the only goal of the first half just 7:34 into the game on a shot from the right side which deflected into the net. Farmingdale State was held to three shots in the half, while Mount Saint Mary took five.

In the 78th minute of action, MSMC's Fred Stark (Hollis, N.Y.) tallied a score off the pass by Eric Hayes (Westhampton Beach, N.Y.) to increase the advantage to 2-0. FSC was held without a shot over the final 12:38 as the Knights earned the 2-0 victory.

Farmingdale State sophomore goalkeeper Lucas Mallia (Greenlawn, N.Y.) had three saves in the loss.

The Rams now will travel to Maritime on Wednesday, October 12th for a Skyline Conference game at 7:30 p.m.
