
Farmingdale State - 3, Sarah Lawrence - 1
Farmingdale, N.Y. - Farmingdale State earned a 3-1 home victory over Sarah Lawrence this afternoon in a Skyline Conference men's soccer game. The Rams now stand at 6-4 overall and 5-0 in the conference, while the Gryphons dropped to 3-6, 0-5.
With 26:47 remaining in the first half, sophomore forward Richard Mastrangelo III (Dix Hills, N.Y.) scored off his own rebound in front of the net to put the Rams ahead, 1-0. Neither team would score over the remainder of the half as FSC went into the break with their one-goal lead.
Only 4:46 into the second, the Rams took a two-goal advantage on a Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) cross in front which set up freshman forward Carlos Rivera-Ronquillo (Huntington Station, N.Y.) for the goal. Parkinson followed with an unassisted score from 15 yards out in the 81st minute to give Farmingdale State a 3-0 lead.
Sarah Lawrence junior midfielder Alix Legrand (Damascus, Penn.) converted a penalty kick opportunity for the final score of the game with 2:12 on the clock as the Rams earned the 3-1 win.
The FSC men's soccer team next will travel to Mount Saint Mary for a conference game on Friday, October 7th at 7:00 p.m.
