Rams Post 2-0 Shutout at Sage

Albany, N.Y. - Farmingdale State posted a 2-0 shutout today against The Sage Colleges (1-4-3, 0-2-1) in a conference men's soccer game played at Albany College of Pharmacy. With the win, the Rams improved to 4-4 overall and remain undefeated, 3-0, in Skyline play.

In a scoreless first half, Farmingdale State sophomore goalkeeper Lucas Mallia (Greenlawn, N.Y.) made seven saves to keep the Rams alive as Sage dominated offensively with a 14-3 shot advantage.

Junior midfielder John Kender (Farmingdale, N.Y.) opened the Rams scoring in the 56th minute, sending home a through pass from sophomore forward Richard Mastrangelo III (Dix Hills, N.Y.) for the 1-0 lead. Farmingdale added an insurance goal at 69:28 when they caught the Sage defense off guard and sophomore midfielder Christian Campos (Huntington Station, N.Y.) sent the ball to the right and freshman forward Carlos Rivera-Ronquillo (Huntington Station, N.Y.) sent a ball to the left corner.

Mallia made five saves in the second half as the Rams held on for the 2-0 victory. The Rams will now host conference opponent Yeshiva University on Friday, September 30th at Noon.
