Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team outshot Purchase College 24-0 as they earned a 3-0 victory in Saturday afternoon's conference matchup. The Rams improved to 2-4 (1-0 Skyline), while Purchase fell to 0-5-1 (0-1-1 Skyline) on the season.
In the 25th minute of the game, freshman forward Carlos Rivera-Ronquillo (Huntington Station, N.Y.) tipped one past the goaltender off of a great feed from teammate Gerard Farrell (Floral Park, N.Y.) to put Farmingdale State ahead, 1-0. Sophomore midfielder Wilson Martinez (Huntington Station, N.Y.) tallied an unassisted goal from 15 yards out with just 5:50 remaining in the half to give Farmingdale State a two-goal advantage. The Rams outshot the Panthers 15-0 in the first half.
With less than nine minutes remaining, sophomore forward Jovanni Parkinson (Wyandanch, N.Y.) scored from the top of the box to give Farmingdale State their third and final goal of the game.
Purchase junior goalkeeper Thomas Ogrodnik (Washingtonville, N.Y.) had eight saves in the loss.
The Rams next will travel to face conference opponent St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Tuesday, September 20th at 5:00 p.m.
