Fast Start Leads Yeshiva Past Rams

Brooklyn, N.Y. - Yeshiva University scored two first half goals en route to the 2-0 Skyline Conference men's soccer victory over Farmingdale State on Thursday. The Rams fell to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play, while the Maccabees improved to 4-4-1, 3-0-1.

Yeshiva took a 1-0 lead in the 9th minute of action on a goal by junior forward Itamar Ben David (Tel-Aviv, Israel) off the cross from freshman forward Julian Ribak (Buenos Aires, Argentina).

With only 7:00 left to play before halftime, the Maccabees used an Aaron Braun (Westin, Fla.) score to increase the advantage to 2-0.

In a scoreless second half, each team only attempted one shot. After dropping back-to-back games, Farmingdale State now sits in fifth place in the Skyline Conference.

The Rams next will host Old Westbury in a conference game on Wednesday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m.
