Farmingdale, NY - Maritime College defeated Farmingdale State in a conference men's soccer game today, 1-0. The Rams dropped to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in Skyline play, while the Privateers improved to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in conference competition.
In the first half of the game, Farmingdale State outshot Maritime 7-2. The game went into halftime tied 0-0.
In the 49th minute, Maritime senior forward Colton Gallt (Plainfield, Ill.) split the defenders off of a pass from sophomore Brett Reilly (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) to score the only goal of the game from 10 yards out.
Rams junior goalie Kevin Gordillo (Flushing, N.Y.) had six saves in the loss, while Privateers goalkeeper Karl Webber (Northport, N.Y.) made six saves in the shutout win.
Farmingdale State next will host New York University in a non-conference game on Tuesday, October 6th at 7:00 p.m.
