Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team earned their fourth straight victory after defeating York (NY) 5-0 in a non-conference game on Tuesday evening. The Rams improved to 4-3 overall, while the Cardinals fell to 0-6-1.
Farmingdale State freshman forward Richard Mastrangelo III (Dix Hills, N.Y.) opened the scoring in the 29th minute as he recorded an unassisted goal from 18 yards out. The Rams outshot York (NY) 8-4 in the first half and took a 1-0 advantage into the break.
Only 2:18 after halftime, Mastrangelo III tallied his second goal of the game to put FSC on top, 2-0. After an unassisted goal by sophomore midfielder John Kender (Farmingdale, N.Y.), senior midfielder Victor Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.) scored on a free kick to increase the FSC lead to 4-0.
With 4:43 remaining, junior midfielder Andrew Ingargiola (Fort Salonga, N.Y.) recorded the final goal of the game off the feed from Anthony Leonick (Levittown, N.Y.) to cap off the 5-0 victory.
Junior goalkeeper Kevin Gordillo (Flushing, N.Y.) stopped three shots in the win for Farmingdale State.
The Rams next will host Mount Saint Mary in a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, September 26th at 1:00 p.m.
