Rams Closeout the Regular-Season with Conference Win

Farmingdale, N.Y. - With a 6-1 victory over Yeshiva University (8-7-1, 2-6-1) this afternoon, the Farmingdale State men's soccer team closed out the regular-season, improving to 7-11-1, 4-5-1 in Skyline play. The Rams now await the result of tomorrow's Purchase/Mount Saint Vincent game at 3:30 p.m., in hopes of securing their spot in the conference tournament.

Junior midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) opened the scoring for Farmingdale at 7:41 with a header off a cross from sophomore forward Gerard Farrell (Floral Park, N.Y.). In the 25th minute, the Rams increased the lead to 2-0 as senior midfielder Julian Munera (Rego Park, N.Y.) connected off the feed from junior forward James Curley (Clifton Park, N.Y.).

Only 4:24 after the halftime break, junior midfielder Diego Sarmiento (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) scored off junior midfielder Michael Vultaggio's (Massapequa, N.Y.) cross in front for a 3-0 Farmingdale advantage. An unassisted goal by freshman forward John Kender (Farmingdale, N.Y.) in the 66th minute put the Rams on top 4-0. Farmingdale State outscored the Maccabees 2-1 over the final 24:12 en route to the conference win.

Freshman goalkeeper Robert Tucker (Oceanside, N.Y.) made four saves for the victory, while freshman keeper Maor Feinstein (Rehovot, Israel) totaled four saves in defeat.
