Stimpson's Hat Trick Leads NYU Past Rams

Riverdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team fell, 7-0, in a non-conference game at New York University on Tuesday evening.

The Violets (8-1) broke the scoreless tie with only 59 seconds remaining in the first half on a goal by sophomore midfielder Deniz Oncu (Istanbul, Turkey). NYU took a 1-0 lead into the break and outshot the Rams 6-4 in the first half.

NYU took control of the game early in the second half after a pair of goals by both Liam Stimpson (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Malcolm Montilus (Mendham, N.J.).

Leading 5-0 with less than six minutes to play, NYU's Tommy Walters (St. Louis, MO) and Stimpson tacked on goals to cap off the 7-0 non-conference victory.

Stimpson finished with a game-high three goals for the Violets.

Farmingdale State (3-8) next will host Mount Saint Vincent in a Skyline Conference game on Saturday, October 4th at noon.
