Farmingdale State - 5, Cairn - 1


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team earned a 5-1 non-conference victory over Cairn this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams ended their four game losing streak and now stand at 2-4 on the year, while the Highlanders dropped to 1-3-1.

Farmingdale State jumped out to a 1-0 lead with 28:12 remaining in the first half on a Vincent Danetti (Wantagh, N.Y.) score as Julian Munera (Rego Park, N.Y.) recorded the assist.

The Rams increased their advantage to 2-0 late in the half after Tyler Rollman's (West Islip, N.Y.) cross was tipped by J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) to Dylan Ross (New Hyde Park, N,Y,) who connected for the goal.

With 28:22 left to play in the second half, Cairn cut the deficit to 2-1 as junior midfielder Ahron Park (Newark, Del.) shot to the top right corner of the net from 15 yards out.

Only eight minutes later, Farmingdale State regained their two goal lead on a score from Victor Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.) after being set up by Munera. In the final six minutes, Famularo and junior forward James Curley (Clifton Park, N.Y.) added goals to lead the Rams to a 5-1 victory.

Freshman goalie Robert Tucker (Oceanside, N.Y.) stopped three shots for the Rams.

Farmingdale State next will host Staten Island in a non-conference matchup on Monday, September 15th at 4:00 p.m.
