Rams Open 2014 with Double OT Win at #12 Stevens

Farmingdale State - 2, #12 Stevens - 1  F/2OT


Hoboken, N.Y. - Junior midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) broke a 1-1 tie with 4:48 remaining in double overtime leading Farmingdale State to season opening victory at 12th-ranked Stevens on Friday night.

The Ducks took an early 1-0 advantage on sophomore midfielder Chris Renna's (Basking Ridge, N.J.) goal from 15 yards out in the 31st minute of play. Each team attempted three shots on goal in the first half.

With 4:16 remaining in regulation, senior midfielder Tyler Rollman (West Islip, N.Y.) tied the game at 1-1 after scoring off the feed from junior forward James Curley (Clifton Park, N.Y.).

After a scoreless first overtime, Famularo netted the game-winning goal as Curley recorded his second assist of the evening.

Freshman goalkeeper Robert Tucker (Oceanside, N.Y.) tallied a game-high 12 saves for the Rams, while sophomore Mike Renna (Basking Ridge, N.J.) had five saves in the loss.

Farmingdale State next will host Baruch in a non-conference game on Wednesday, September 3rd at 4:00 p.m.
