
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team finished the 2012 season with an 8-9-2 record, including 6-3 in the Skyline Conference. The Rams entered the playoffs as the #5 seed and fell in the quarterfinals 1-0 at fourth-seeded NYU-Poly on penalty kicks.
Senior Brian Anderson (Massapequa, N.Y.) was named Skyline Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was a First Team All-Conference selection. Junior midfielder Renato Ipince (Lima, Peru) and junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) each received First Team honors this season.
Freshman midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) led the Rams in scoring with seven goals, including three game-winners and 15 points. Freshman midfielder Victor Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.) was second with five goals, while junior defender Matt Kirby (West Islip, N.Y.) tallied three goals and three assists for nine points, which tied Anderson for third most on the team.
The Rams will be graduating three seniors this year.
