Albany, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team shutout Sage, 2-0, as they picked up a conference win on the road this afternoon. The Rams improved to 8-8-1 overall, 6-3 in Skyline play, while the Gators fell to 12-3-1, 6-2-1 in the conference.

Farmingdale State took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute as junior defender Matt Kirby (West Islip, N.Y.) scored on a feed from the corner by junior defender Dennis Sfoglia (Massapequa, N.Y.). The Rams were outshot 5-3 in the first half but took a 1-0 lead into the break.

In the second half, Farmingdale State increased their advantage to 2-0 as freshman midfielder Victor Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.) scored the final goal of the game after being setup by junior forward John Popovic's (Baldwin, N.Y.) pass.

Junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) made six saves and recorded his eighth shutout of the season.

The Rams next will close out the regular season as they travel to William Paterson for a non-conference match on Monday, October 22nd at 7:00 p.m.
