Throggs Neck, N.Y. - Freshman midfielder Victor Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.) scored the game-winning goal for Farmingdale State with 6:41 remaining in a 1-0 victory over Maritime last night in Throggs Neck, N.Y.

In a defensive first half, the Rams (7-8-1, 5-3) held a 5-3 shot advantage over the Privateers (7-10-1, 3-5).

The game remained scoreless until Romero stole the ball from the defenders and recorded the unassisted goal, his fourth score of the season. After Farmingdale State took a 1-0 lead, they held Maritime without a shot to capture the Skyline Conference win.

Junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) had four saves for the Rams, while freshman Karl Weber (Northport, N.Y.) tallied six saves in the loss.

Farmingdale State next will travel to Sage on Saturday, October 20th for a conference match at 11:30 a.m. The game will be played at Albany College of Pharmacy Field.
