Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team shutout Mount Saint Vincent 7-0 this afternoon in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams improved to 5-5-1 overall and a perfect 3-0 in Skyline action, while the Dolphins fell to 2-4-1, 0-3 in conference play.
Mount Saint Vincent played a man-down after picking up a red card in the 8th minute of action. Farmingdale State took advantage as freshman midfielder Michael Vultaggio (Massapequa, N.Y.) scored an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute. The Rams increased their lead to 2-0 eight minutes later on a Brian Anderson (Massapequa, N.Y.) goal. Junior defender Matt Kirby (West Islip, N.Y.) scored Farmingdale State's third goal of the half with only 1:37 left to play before the break. The Rams held a 16-5 shot advantage and took a 3-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Farmingdale State added goals by freshman midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.), sophomore midfielder Vincent Danetti (Wantagh, N.Y.), junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) and sophomore forward Jason Bohman (West Islip, N.Y.) to pick up the 7-0 conference win.
Viteritti had two saves in his fourth consecutive shutout.
The Rams next will travel to Old Westbury for a Skyline match on Tuesday, October 2nd at 4:00 p.m.
