Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team improved to 2-0 in the Skyline Conference after today's 3-0 victory over St. Joseph's in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams now hold an overall record of 4-5-1, while the Golden Eagles fell to 3-7, 1-1 in conference action.
After a scoreless first half, freshman midfielder J.T. Famularo (Levittown, N.Y.) scored off the feed from junior forward John Popovic (Baldwin, N.Y.) in the 64th minute to put Farmingdale State ahead 1-0. Six minutes later, the Rams increased their advantage to 2-0 on a Popovic goal as junior defender Matt Kirby (West Islip, N.Y.) recorded this assist. Farmingdale State freshman midfielder Victor Romero (Bay Shore, N.Y.) scored the games final goal with 15:02 remaining as Kirby tallied his second assist of the match.
Junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) made five saves en route to his third consecutive shutout.
The Rams next will host Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, September 29th at noon.
