Rams and Falcons End in Double OT Tie

New Haven, Conn. - Junior goalkeeper Angelo Viteritti (East Northport, N.Y.) made 10 saves for Farmingdale State as the Rams and Falcons ended in a double overtime scoreless tie on Sunday afternoon. Farmingdale State now stands at 3-5-1, while Albertus Magnus is 7-1-1. 

In the first half, the Falcons held an 11-3 shot advantage and Viteritti recorded six saves for the Rams.

Farmingdale State junior defender Matt Kirby (West Islip, N.Y.) nearly scored on a header in the 55th minute of action but a diving stop by junior goalie Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) kept the game scoreless.

Each team attempted one shot on goal in the first overtime period and no shots on net were taken in double overtime as the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

Viteritti recorded his third shutout in the last four games with his 10 save effort.

The Rams next will host St. Joseph's in a Skyline Conference match on Wednesday, September 26th at 4:00 p.m.
