Rams Fall in Road Match at Staten Island

Staten Island, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team dropped to 2-5 on the season after falling 4-1 in a non-conference game at Staten Island. The Dolphins improved to 4-3 with the win.

Staten Island quickly took the lead as junior forward Negdy Nazon (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored off the feed from Alfonso Castaneda (Staten Island, N.Y.) only 5:31 into the contest. The Dolphins increased their lead to 2-0 on a breakaway score by freshman forward Daniel Tsygankov (Staten Island, N.Y.) with 19:06 remaining in the first half. Staten Island took a 2-0 advantage into the break after holding a slight 4-3 shot advantage in the half.

Trailing 3-0 late in the second half, Farmingdale State junior midfielder Renato Ipince (Lima, Peru) broke the shutout as he scored off a rebound in front. The Dolphins would add one more score over the final minutes en route to a 4-1 victory.

The Rams next will host York (N.Y.) in a non-conference game on Monday, September 17th at 4:00 p.m.
