Wilkes Barre, Pa. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team fell to 0-2 on the season after a 6-1 non-conference loss at King's College. The Monarchs improved to 1-1 on the year with the victory.
The Rams struck first as sophomore midfielder Vincent Danetti (Wantagh, N.Y.) scored an unassisted goal with 25:38 remaining in the first half. A pair of unanswered goals by junior forward Kevin Buchanan (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Erik Foster (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) gave King's College a 2-1 halftime advantage.
The Monarchs increased their lead to 3-1 as freshman midfielder Chris Nyrgen (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) netted the pass from David Stroh (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) only 29 seconds after the break. Three more King's College goals would cap off the 6-1 non-conference win.
Farmingdale State next will host Brooklyn College on Thursday, September 6th at 4:00 p.m.
