2011 Men's Soccer Season Recap


Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team finished the 2011 season with a 4-12 overall record and was 3-6 in the Skyline Conference. Senior defender Michael Curatolo (East Meadow, N.Y.) was the only player named to the All-Conference team as he earned Second Team honors.

Freshman forward Joseph Dettori (Bay Shore, N.Y.) scored a team high nine goals, two of which were game winners and added one assist for 15 points this year. Senior forward Tyler Balzer (Huntington, N.Y.) was second on the team with five goals, including two game winning scores. 

Junior midfielder Brian Anderson (Massapequa, N.Y.) had two goals and three assists tallying seven points on the season. Senior captain and midfielder Jordan Bousquet (Ridge, N.Y.) ran an offense that finished fourth in points (59) and fifth in goals scored (20) in Skyline Conference matches. He also solidified a defense that finished sixth in goals allowed and goals against average in conference play. 

Curatolo, a team captain, anchored a defense that held a 1.31 goals against average and recorded three shutouts in Skyline matches.

The Rams will be graduating three seniors this year.
