Rams Fall in Conference Game at St. Joe's

Medford, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team fell 4-2 to conference opponent St. Joseph's on Wednesday night at the Medford Sports Complex in Medford, N.Y. The Rams dropped to 3-10 overall, 2-4 in the Skyline with the loss, while the Golden Eagles improve to 9-6, 6-0 in the conference.

St. Joe's scored first just 13 minutes in, with a goal from sophomore midfielder Anthony Rappa (West Babylon, N.Y.), assisted by junior stopper John Dettori (Bay Shore, N.Y.). The Rams evened the score on junior midfielder Brian Anderson's (Massapequa, N.Y.) goal just before halftime, but with 59 seconds to go junior midfielder Joe Alessi (Shirley, N.Y.) connected on a Rappa pass to give the Golden Eagles a 2-1 edge at the break.

In the second, Farmingdale State freshman forward Joseph Dettori (Bay Shore, N.Y.) took a through ball from Anderson and found the back of the net for another tie score at 2-2.

The eventual game-winner would be scored by St. Joe's Dettori, in the 65th minute, an unassisted goal and the insurance goal was scored by William Kuhlwilm as the Golden Eagles remain undefeated in the Skyline with the 4-2 victory.

The Rams will now face the College of Mount Saint Vincent for a conference game on Saturday, October 15th at Tibbets Brook Park at 6:30 p.m.
