Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team fell to 3-9, 2-3 in the Skyline with a 1-0 loss to the visiting Sage College Gators (8-5-1, 4-2) today in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Rams allowed the lone goal with 9:09 remaining to play in regulation.
The first half saw a 7-3 shot advantage and a 3-2 corner kick advantage by Sage, with a few scoring opportunities by freshman forward Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) that missed wide or just high for the Gators.
In the second, Sage led again 7-5 in shots and a corner kick and goal by sophomore midfielder Wesley Finch (Newburgh, N.Y.) would lead to the game-winner. Finch tapped the corner kick to freshman midfielder Jose Miranda (Bay Shore, N.Y.), who sent the ball back to Finch as he streaked towards the goal and sent a shot into the bottom right corner.
Sage freshman goalkeeper Trevor Paddy (Brooklyn, N.Y) made three saves for the win.
The Rams now face Skyline opponent St. Joseph's on Wednesday, October 12th at 4:00 p.m. at the Medford Sports Complex.
