
- Balzer named Player of the Week, Valverde named to Honor Roll -
New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference released the second Men's Soccer report for the 2011 season this afternoon, including Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Honor Roll and Conference statistics.
Senior forward Tyler Balzer (Huntington, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week. Balzer led the Rams to a 2-1 week, scoring three goals and adding an assist. He had the golden goal in the 103rd minute of a 1-0 OT win over Brooklyn. Balzer also had two goals, including the game winner and an assist in a 7-0 win over Skyline opponent Yeshiva.
Freshman goalkeeper Michael Valverde (Elwood, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll. Valverde shut out Brooklyn in his only outing of the week, a 1-0 OT win in which he stopped 10 shots.
