
Men's Soccer Receives Three All-Conference Selections
- Curatolo and Arthurs named First Team, Mendolia receives Second Team honors -
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team had three players receive All-Conference honors this season. Junior defender Michael Curatolo (East Meadow, N.Y./W.T. Clarke) and senior midfielder Mathew Arthurs (Islip Terrace, N.Y./East Islip) were named First Team, while senior midfielder Alex Mendolia (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) was named to the Second Team.
Curatolo anchored a defense that led the Skyline Conference in goals against average, recorded seven shutouts (2nd) and was tied for third in goals allowed. The Rams allowed only six goals in 10 Skyline games.
Arthurs was tied for a team-high three goals this season and had one game-winning score. From his midfield position, Arthurs controlled the Skyline's top ranked defense and helped Farmingdale State finish fourth in the conference with 19 goals in 10 Skyline games.
Mendolia started 19-of-20 games this season, scoring three goals and recording two assists for eight points which was second on the team. All three of Mendolia's goals were scored in conference games.
