Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team won their fifth straight game today with a 3-0 shutout against Mount Saint Mary College. The Rams are now 7-4-1 overall and 6-1 in Skyline play, while the Blue Knights hold a record of 5-5-1, 1-3 in the conference.

Senior goalkeeper Patrick Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport) made four saves in his fourth shutout of the season. Gubbins has allowed just one goal in the Rams five game win streak.

Farmingdale broke out to a quick lead in the first fifteen minutes of play, behind goals from sophomore forward Nick Pancotto (Islip, N.Y./Islip) and junior midfielder Alex Mendolia (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East). The Rams controlled the half with a 15-4 shot advantage, holding a 2-0 lead at the break.

The second half featured a 10-4 shot advantage from the Rams, while junior forward Ryan Paul (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) scored the halfs only goal with 2:06 remaining, and Farmingdale went on for the 3-0 victory.

Mount Saint Mary goalkeeper Paul Aries made eight saves in defeat.

The Rams will return to action as they host Hunter College on Wednesday, October 14th at 3:00 p.m.
