
Paul Nets Hat Trick in Rams Win over Purchase

Purchase, N.Y. - Junior forward Ryan Paul
(Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) netted his third hat trick of the season,
leading the Rams to a 3-1 win over Purchase College (3-6-1, 1-3) on
Tuesday night in Purchase, N.Y. Paul now holds 13 goals on the year
and Farmingdale stands at 6-4-1 overall, with a 5-1 record in
Skyline play.
Paul's first goal came just 6:22 into the game as he scored off a pass from sophomore midfielder Jordan Bousquet (Ridge, N.Y./Longwood) for a 1-0 Rams lead. That goal would be the only scoring until the second half.
Purchase's Nick Esposito evened the score at 1-1 early in the second, before Paul scored at the 72 minute mark for another Rams lead, 2-1, assisted by freshman midfielder Joe Brantmeyer (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches). Paul added the insurance goal 10 minutes later and the Rams held on for the victory.
Senior goalkeeper Patrick Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport) made four saves in the win for Farmingdale.
The Rams will now host Skyline opponent Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, October 10th at 1:00 p.m.
