
Rams Tie Brockport in Scoreless Game

Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's
soccer team posted a double overtime 0-0 tie today against visiting
Brockport State Golden Eagles (2-1-2). Rams sophomore goalkeeper
Ricky Meschkow (Plainview, N.Y./Plainview) and Brockport sophomore
goalkeeper Rob Ryan (Centereach, N.Y./Centereach) made three saves
and four saves, respectively, as they allowed no scoring in 110
minutes played.
Brockport outshot Farmingdale 7-3 in the first half, as Meschkow made one save and the Rams had a team save by freshman midfielder Joe Brantmeyer (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches).
In the second, Farmingdale led the shot total over Brockport 9-8, while goalkeeper Ryan made four saves in the second half to force overtime, including a diving save on a Rams breakaway with 12 minutes to go. The Rams Meschkow made three saves in the second, while sophomore defender Mike Curatolo (East Meadow, N.Y./W.T. Clarke) had a game-saving team save on the line.
Farmingdale outshot Brockport 3-2 during the two ten-minute overtime periods, but the game would end in a tie and the Rams now stand at 2-3-1 for the season.
The Rams will now face Skyline opponent Old Westbury on Thursday, September 24th at 4:00 p.m.
