Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State (1-1) men's soccer team was defeated 6-1, by non-conference opponent Oneonta State (2-0) this afternoon, in Farmingdale, N.Y.

The Rams fell behind 1-0, six minutes into the contest after freshman Ian Tenzer (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) scored on the pass from Dan Scott (Salt Point, N.Y./FD Roosevelt) for the Red Dragons. Sophomore midfielder Jonathan Kowalski (Glens Falls, N.Y./Glens Falls) added the second goal for Oneonta State, giving them a 2-0 halftime advantage.  

Oneonta would score the first two goals of the second half, before Farmingdale junior Ryan Paul (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) netted a cross in front by sophomore Jordan Bousquet (Ridge, N.Y./Longwood) at the 79 minute mark. The Red Dragons would add two more goals, handing the Rams their first loss of the season.

Farmingdale State senior goalkeeper Partick Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport) had 15 saves in 77 minutes of action, while Oneonta's senior goalie Jonathan Korn (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow East) did not allow a goal in 74 minutes.

The Rams next will travel to Rutgers-Camden for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, September 9th, at 7:00pm.
