
Overtime Win Advances Rams to ECAC Semifinals

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State
men’s soccer team advances in the ECAC Tournament with a 3-2
overtime victory over Centenary College in an ECAC Metro
Quarterfinal game in Farmingdale, N.Y.
The Cyclone’s opened the scoring in the first 36 seconds with an unassisted goal by freshman forward Jimmy Corey (Jackson, N.J. / Jackson Memorial). The Rams answered with a goal by sophomore Ryan Paul (Sayville, N.Y. / Sayville), who was fed in front by junior Marcos Cipra (Long Beach N.Y. / Long Beach), making the game 1-1. Just before the half, freshman midfielder Ryan Lang (West Babylon, N.Y. /West Babylon) scored from a pass from Paul and Farmingdale went ahead 2-1.
In the second half, Centenary’s Chris Guadagno (West Milford, N.J. / West Milford) scored on a header from a long throw in from junior Ryan Bilello (West Hemptstead, N.Y. / West Hempstead), which tied the game at two.
Seven minutes into sudden death overtime, freshman Ryan Standridge (Lindenhurst, N.Y. / Lindenhurst) scored the game-winner, assisted by Ryan Paul. This was Paul’s second assist of the game.
Farmingdale now advances to the ECAC Metro Semifinals on Saturday November 15th and will face top-seeded William Paterson University (13-5-2) in Wayne, N.J., time TBA.
