
Rams Receive First-Ever ECAC Bid
- With #4 seed will host #5 Centenary in Quarterfinals -
Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's
soccer team received their first-ever ECAC bid after posting a
12-7-1 overall record. The Rams were seeded fourth for the ECAC
Metro Tournament and will host #5 seed Centenary College on
Wednesday, November 12th at 1:30 p.m.
Farmingdale State has won the most games in program history this season and made their first appearance in the Skyline Finals, falling to St. Joseph's 1-0. The Rams are led offensively by sophomore Ryan Paul (Sayville, N.Y.) with 19 goals and defensively by the two team captains, junior defender Mat Arthurs (East Islip, N.Y.) and senior midfielder Thomas Mueller (Babylon, N.Y.). The Rams defense has held opponents to 1.25 goals per game this season, while junior goalkeeper Patrick Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y.) has posted seven shutouts and a 1.01 goals against average.
Centenary, a former member of the Skyline Conference, is now a member of the Colonial States Athletic Conference. The Cyclones hold an overall record of 10-9-1 and ended their CSAC playoff run in the Quarterfinals with a 1-0 loss to Marywood College. Chris Hill leads the offense with 12 goals, while goalkeepers Damien DiBuono and Jason Rogers split time in net.
