Patrick Gubbins Named ECAC and Skyline Player of the Week
Junior goalkeeper Patrick Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport)
was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week and ECAC
Defensive Player of the Week for men's soccer on Monday, November
3rd.
Farmingdale State College clinched the top seed in the Skyline
Conference championship thanks to the strong play of junior
goalkeeper Patrick Gubbins. In two games last week, Gubbins stopped
15 shots and did not allow a goal in more than 186 minutes of
action. In a battle of the top teams, Gubbins stopped 12 shots as
the Rams earned a 1-0 victory over St. Joseph's. He added three
saves in a 1-0 overtime win over Bard.
