
Pancotto's Hat Trick Powers Rams Past Polytechnic

Brooklyn, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's soccer team improved to 6-0 in Skyline Conference play with their 5-0 win over Polytechnic Univervity on Thursday afternoon.
Sophomore Alex Mendolia (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) opened the scoring for the Rams ten minutes into the game on a pass from junior Matthew Arthurs (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip). Sophomore Nick Pancotto (Islip, N.Y./Islip) would add his first of three goals at the 27:00 mark, giving Farmingdale State a 2-0 lead which they would take to halftime. The Rams outshot Polytechnic 7-3 in the first half.
In the second, Pancotto scored his final two goals in a three minutes span. Sophomore Kevin Reim (Commack, N.Y./Commack) would add the games final tally for the Rams off a pass from freshman Ryan Standridge(Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst).
Junior goalkeeper Patrick Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue) made three saves in the victory for the Rams, Wilson Zhindon (Elmhurst, N.Y.) made 13 saves in the loss for Polytechnic.
