Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State
men’s soccer team improved to 9-9, 6-2 in the Skyline today
with win over Polytechnic (2-15, 1-7) at home. The Rams held a five
goal lead at halftime and added two more in the second for a final
of 7-0. Junior midfielder Thomas Mueller (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon)
led the scoring for Farmingdale with two goals and one assist.
Sophomore forward Frank Volante (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Farmingdale) finished the day with one goal and one assist. Senior forward Andrew Whilby (St. Albans, N.Y./Wolmers Boys School) had two goals in the first half. Freshman midfielder Roger Lane (Ozone Park, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) scored the games final goal with a beautiful header on an indirect kick outside the box from freshman defender Chris Genzmann (North Massapequa, N.Y./Farmingdale).
The Rams host Old Westbury on Saturday, October 27th for their final home and regular season game at 1:00 p.m. Farmingdale stands in fourth place in the Skyline and Old Westbury is currently tied for first.
