Whilby's Hat Trick Helps Rams to Fourth Straight Win

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Rams won their fourth straight game to improve to 4-6 overall with a 6-0 victory over York College (N.Y., 6-4) today in men's soccer action in Farmingdale, N.Y. Senior forward Andrew Whilby (St. Albans, N.Y./Wolmers Boys School) scored the first two goals of the game and added a third just before the end of the first half for his first hat trick of the season. Junior midfielder Bryant Rodriguez (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka) scored in the first as well, assisted by junior midfielder Thomas Mueller (Babylon, N.Y./Babylon), and Farmingdale held a 4-0 lead at halftime.

Mueller added a goal of his own in the 64th minute for a 5-0 edge. Senior forward Carmelo Sottile (West Sayville, N.Y./Brentwood) scored the sixth Rams goal with 11 minutes remaining in the game, assisted by senior midfielder Andrew Jardine (Centereach, N.Y./Our Saviour New American). Jardine finished the day with two assists.

Farmingdale sophomore goalkeeper Patric Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport) made no saves in his third shutout of the year, while York senior goalkeeper Kafui Kouakou (Togo, Africa/CTC Ora Labora) made five saves in defeat.

The Rams travel to face Brooklyn College on Monday, October 1st for a non-conference game at 4:30 p.m.
