Farmingdale, N.Y. – The Farmingdale State
men’s soccer team fell to Oneonta State (1-0) today in their
non-conference season opening game in Farmingdale, N.Y. Oneonta got
on the board 12:36 into the game with a goal from senior forward
Keith Manscuk (Rochester, N.Y./Aquinas), assisted by senior forward
Billy Ohrin (Castleton, N.Y./Maple Hill). Ohrin scored for the Red
Dragons seven minutes later on a reception from Manscuk in front,
and Manscuk added his second of the day at 29:06 on a penalty
kick.
Oneonta took a 4-0 lead into the half and early in the second added their fifth and final goal for the 5-0 victory. Sophomore goalkeeper Jonathan Korn (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) made two saves for his first victory of the season, while the Rams sophomore goalkeeper Patrick Gubbins (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport) made two saves in defeat.
Farmingdale State will now travel to Richard Stockton College in Pomona, N.J. next weekend and will face Richard Stockton on Friday, September 7th at 8:00 p.m. and then spend the night to play William Paterson on Saturday, September 8th at 1:00 p.m.
