The 2006 men's soccer team finished the season 9-8-2 and had three players make Skyline All-Conference. For the first time since joining the Skyline Conference, the Rams made the post-season tournament and faced the #6th ranked team in the nation, Stevens Institute of Technology. Despite the loss in the semifinals, this year's team finished with the most wins since the school joined the NCAA in 1999.
Junior transfer Andrew Whilby led the team in scoring with 13 goals and four assists for 30 points; the most points by a Farmingdale player in the past six seasons. He was followed by freshmen Ryan Paul and Marcos Cipra with five goals a piece. Paul had an impressive rookie campaign, finishing second in scoring with 13 points and was named Skyline Rookie of the Week on October 2nd.

Defensively, co-captains James Varicchio and Bryan Spencer controlled the backfield and helped hold opponents to just 1.63 goals per game during the regular season. Cipra, who also finished third in scoring, was strong in the backfield for Farmingdale. The Rams improved this year in goals per game, compared to 3.40 goals per game in 2004 and 1.81 goals per game in 2005.
The goal cage was occupied by freshmen Joseph Caccavale and Patrick Gubbins. Caccavale finished with 85 saves, a 2.01 GAA and a 6-6-2 record, including three shutouts. Gubbins finished the season 3-2 with two shutouts and a 1.65 GAA.

The team will return 18-of-19 players for 2007 as Head Coach Chuck Schimpf looks towards another appearance in the Skyline Conference Playoffs.
