Men's Soccer All-Conference Announced
Nov 6, 2006

The Skyline Conference announced the All-Conference Men's Soccer team on November 6th, 2006. Farmingdale State had three players receive All-Conference honors. Forward Andrew Whilby (St. Albans, NY) was named First Team All-Skyline, while defender James Varricchio (Massapequa Park, NY) and midfielder Carlos Proano (Brentwood, NY) were both named to the Second Team.

Whilby, a junior transfer, led the team with 13 goals and four assists for 30 points; the most points by a Farmingdale player in the past six seasons. Whilby was the go-to guy on offense, scoring three game-winning goals, posting two hat-tricks. He was also seen on the D3Kicks.com Team of the Week once and on the Skyline Player or the Week list four times during the season.

Varrichio, a junior co-captain, had one of his best seasons yet for the Rams. He helped the defense in allowing the fewest amount of goals scored in four years. With James in the backfield, the team has improved on defense each season and this year he helped hold Stevens to just one goal in a 1-0 loss during the regular season. Also one of just three players, James played in all 19 games this season.

Proano, the teams' lone senior, took a year off last season and came back to the program to finish fourth in scoring. He scored three goals and three assists from his starting midfield position and played in 18-of-19 games this season.
