Farmingdale, NY - A goal with three seconds remaining in the first half by junior forward Will Sprouse (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Hendrick Hudson) would prove to be the game-winner for Merchant Marine (4-0, 2-0 Skyline) in a 3-0 conference victory over Farmingdale State (1-2-2, 0-1 Skyline) today in Farmingdale, NY.

The Mariners' second goal came 67 minutes in, by sophomore forward Kyle Leutjen (Overland Park, KS/Blue Valley) assisted by sophomore forward Taylor Pankratz (Nacogdoches, TX/Nacogdoches). Poulnot added the final goal for Merchant Marine at the 72-minute mark after Pankratz headed a shot off the post.

The Mariners finished with a 23-3 shot advantage over the Rams. Freshman goalkeeper Joseph Caccavale (West Islip, NY/West Islip) finished with eight saves for Farmingdale State.
