Santibanez Notches Five Points against King's Point

Freshman midfielder Fabian Santibanez (Oyster Bay, NY/Oyster Bay) tallied two goals and an assist for the Rams on Wednesday night at Captain Tomb Field in a 5-3 conference loss against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy-King�s Point. Farmingdale State falls to 2-3, 0-1 Skyline, while King�s Point improves to 4-2, 2-0 Skyline.

The King�s Point scoring came courtesy of two goals each off the feet of freshman Chris Flanagan (Yaphank, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and sophomore Kyle Flynn (Poughquag, NY/Arlington). Flanagan scored first for King�s Point at the 10:17 mark, but Farmingdale evened the score at one goal apiece with an unassisted goal from Santibanez from 15-yards out. King�s Point answered back with two more goals in the first half and a quick goal at the start of the second half, for a 4-1 lead.

The Rams would strike back 14 minutes into the second, as Thomas Mueller (Babylon, NY/Babylon) scored on a give-and-go fastbreak pass from Santibanez to cut the USMMA lead to 4-2. Santibanez scored off a free kick in the waning seconds for Farmingdale�s third goal.

The Rams have a week of rest before traveling for the next game on Wednesday, September 21st against conference opponent Maritime College at 4pm.
