Men's Soccer Defeats City Tech

Farmingdale State men's soccer picked up their first victory of the season defeating New York City College of Technology on Saturday afternoon, 3-0. After a scoreless first half, the Rams (1-2, 0-0 Skyline) were able to capitalize on an 11-3 shot advantage in the second half. Farmingdale forward Jared DiIorio (Coram, NY/Longwood) scored on a breakaway at 74:57, after a quick restart pass by Thomas Florez (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) for the assist. Diego Grisales (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood) took a penalty kick for Farmingdale, giving the Rams a two goal lead with 12 minutes remaining. The final goal was scored on a cross by junior Andrew Jardine (Centereach, NY/Our Savior New American), surprising the City Tech goalie and dropping in the right corner at 84:37. Rams goalie Patric Santiago (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) had four saves in his first shutout of the season.

City Tech goalie Jairo Pena (Far Rockaway, NY/Beach Channel) made five saves for the Yellow Jackets.

Farmingdale State hosts York College on Monday, September 12th at 4:00pm.
