Men's Soccer Falls 2-0 in Season Opener

The men's soccer team fell 2-0 in the season opener against Rutgers-Newark on Saturday afternoon. Farmingdale was outshot 15-5 in the loss. Senior goalkeeper Patric Santiago (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) finished with five saves for the Rams.

Rutgers-Newark sophomore forward Kazim Mirza (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) had an assist and a goal, while sophomore defender Scott Anderson (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) scored the game winner. Freshman goalkeeper Steve Alonso (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) picked up the shutout victory to start his career.

Farmingdale will play their first home game of the season against New Paltz on Wednesday afternoon, September 7th, at 4:30pm.
