Golf in Third Place After Day 1 of FSC Spring Invite

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | Led by a plus-2 round of 72 by junior Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) on Saturday, the Farmingdale State College golf team sits in third place after day one of the two-day, FSC Spring Invitational at Bethpage State Park's Red Course (7,092 yards, Par 70). 

The Rams (plus-17, 297) sit seven shots behind leader and 21st-ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, while New York University (293) are in second place heading into Sunday's (first tee times: 9 a.m.) final round.

Castaldy's round sits in a fifth-place tie individually, after he birdied two of the last four holes. Classmate Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.) is one shot behind Castaldy, while a plus-5 round of 75 by freshman James Quinlan (Poughquag, N.Y.) is tied for 19th among 51 individuals. Juniors Mackenzie Kim (E. Quogue, N.Y.) and Liam Miller (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) both shot rounds of 77 to account for the Rams' team scoring.
