Golf Sits Tied For Ninth After Day One at The Gauntlet

HARRISBURG, Pa. | Led by a 1-over round of 73 on Sunday afternoon by junior Mackenzie Kim (E. Quogue, N.Y.), the Farmingdale State College golf team sits in a ninth-place tie (plus-15, 303) after day one of at The Gauntlet tournament, being hosted on the par-72, 6,914-yard course at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course.

Kim's 73 is tied for 10th place individually, five strokes behind McDaniel's Ryan McGarry and Washington & Jefferson's Colin Robinson, who each carded a four-under-par round of 68.

Two strokes behind Kim from the Rams is junior Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.), while classmates Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) and Liam Miller (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) shot rounds of 76 and 79, respectively.

Washington & Jefferson leads the team competition with a plus-2 quartet of 290, which sits one stroke ahead of both McDaniel and Drew University.

The second and final day of the 14-team tourney is set for a shotgun start Monday (Sept. 12) at 8 a.m.
