Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. - Farmingdale State opened with a team total of 320 in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship on Tuesday. The Rams played the par 72 El Campeon course today and are currently in 26th place out of 43 competing teams.

In the windy conditions, sophomore Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) led the way for Farmingdale State with a two-over par 74. He currently sits tied for 25th in a field of 221.

Junior Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.) and sophomore Liam Miller (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) shot 80 and 81, respectively, for the Rams, while senior Eli Leone-Formisano (Monroe, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for FSC with an 85.

Carnegie Mellon University (288) holds a three-stroke lead over Huntingdon College. Methodist University sits in third place after the first round.

William Knauth of Carnegie Mellon shot three-under par and holds a one-stroke lead over three others.
