Golf Team Partners with FSC DSC, TRIO for Free Golf Lessons

FSC Golf 2022 Partnership with TRIO and DSC
The Farmingdale State College golf team continued its once-a-semester collaboration with the school's TRIO and DSC groups.

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | In keeping with an eight-year-old tradition, the Farmingdale State College golf team partnered with the college’s Disability Services Center and TRIO program recently at the campus driving range to provide students with golf lessons and an afternoon of fun.

The partnership has seen the two organizations and the golf team provide this opportunity in both the fall and spring semesters throughout the last eight years.

“Being able to give back to the campus community is something that our team takes great pride in,” said Ryan Williams, a 2007 alumnus of the college and former standout member of the Rams’ golf team who serves as Farmingdale State’s Assistant Athletic Director and Head Golf Coach. “To see the students, and our golfers, smile and have a great time while learning a lifelong sport is a partnership that we seek to continue well into the future.”

Farmingdale State’s Disability Services Center provides students with disabilities with academic accommodations to function as independently as possible, and to ensure a comprehensively accessible college experience where individuals with disabilities have the same access to programs, opportunities and activities as all other students at FSC.

TRIO is a federally-funded Student Support Services program that serves FSC students who come from underrepresented backgrounds. TRIO is a selective program that provides its participants with support to stay in school, finish their degrees, and pursue graduate studies, if desired.
