Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team is hosting the FSC Spring Invitational this weekend at Bethpage State Park Red Course. The Rams shot 302 in today's opening round and are in fifth place.

Skidmore and New York University are tied for the lead after each shooting 289 on Saturday.

Junior Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.) led the way for Farmingdale State with an opening round of 73 (+3) and is tied for 10th out of 40 competitors.

Sophomore Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) fired a 4-over par 74, while senior Eli Leone-Formisano (Monroe, N.Y.), sophomore Mackenzie Kim (East Quogue, N.Y.) and sophomore Liam Miller (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) shot 77, 78, and 79, respectively.

Sean Hurley of Skidmore holds the individual lead with a 69 (-1) in the opening round and is one stroke ahead of Joey Burlison of NYU and Max Woodman of Husson, who are tied for second.

Farmingdale State will begin play at 10:00 a.m. in tomorrow's final round.
