Washington, N.J. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team opened their spring season today at the Kiln Intercollegiate at Hawk Pointe Golf Club. The Rams posted an opening round total of 294 and are currently tied for first place with Drew University out of eight competing teams.

Farmingdale State was led by sophomore Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) who fired a career-low round of 70 (-2), including a 10-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole. Castaldy is tied for first with Mike Ford (-2) of Drew for the individual lead after the first round.

Senior Eli Leone-Formisano (Monroe, N.Y.) and sophomore Mackenzie Kim (East Quogue, N.Y.) each carded an opening round of 74 and are tied for 10th individually.

Junior Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.) pitched in with a 76 (+4), including a 15-foot putt on the 18th hole for par to maintain the tie with Drew for first place.

The Rams team total of 294 is the lowest round FSC has shot since October 6th, 2017 at the FSC Skyline Invitational.

Farmingdale State will begin play at 11:00 a.m. in tomorrow's final round.
