Wheeling, WV - The Farmingdale State men's golf team opened with a team total of 333 in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Championship. The Rams played the par 71 Jones Course today and are tied for 33rd place out of 37 teams.

Freshman Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) led the way for FSC with an 8-over par round of 79. Senior Brian Crawford (Stormville, N.Y.) posted an 83, while freshman Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.) recorded an 84. Freshman Matt Behrens (Smithtown, N.Y.) pitched in with a round one score of 87 for the Rams.

Illinois Wesleyan (+6/290) holds a 3-stroke lead over Huntingdon College (+9/289) and St. John's (MN) (+15/299) is currently in third place.

Individually, Will Hocker (Webster), Jimmy Morton (Illinois Wesleyan) and Glavine Schugel (Mary Hardin-Baylor) are all tied for the lead after shooting rounds of 1-under par.

The Rams will begin play in round two on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
