Farmingdale, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State men's golf team shot a final round of 303 for a two day total of 608 at the Skyline Conference Championship at the Bethpage State Park - Red Course. The Rams finished in second place five strokes behind Manhattanville (298-305-603).
FSC freshman Kyle Zere (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) fired a tournament-low final round of 68 and finished in a tie for third place with a two day total of 146. Zere's 68 tied the Farmingdale State school record which is held by Adam Larkin (2012 & 2013). Zere was 2-under par on the front nine and shot an even par 35 on the back en route to his record-tying 68. Freshman Chris Iguchi (Centereach, N.Y.) also tied for third place individually with rounds of 74 and 72. Zere and Iguchi were each named Skyline Conference Rookie's of the Year.
Freshman Nick Gregorio (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.), who opened with a 75, posted a final round score of 80 and finished in eighth place. Gregorio earned Second Team All-Skyline Conference honors.
Individually, Manhattanville’s Reid Robertson claimed medalist honors with rounds of 71 and 73 (144) to finish one stroke ahead of teammate Robert Andrews (75-70-145). Reid was named Skyline Conference Player of the Year.
The Rams next will host the 12-team FSC Fall Invitational at Bethpage Red on Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th.
